Weekly Update for January 22, 2021

Dear Siblings in Christ,

This Sunday we continue services via livestream only, and we also have a Congregational Meeting. You can join the Congregational Meeting via Zoom or livestream. However, to have voice or vote, you will need join on Zoom. You will want to use either Zoom or the livestream, and not both, as there is much more of a delay in our high-definition livestream.

I was thankful to see the Chapel in use this week, and the Pastoral Care team has been in prayer for the requests that were submitted. Much more is cranking back up on Zoom for now in the weeks ahead. Read below for more information about everything I have mentioned.

This Sunday, Pastor Craig will lead our combined Adult Sunday School Class.

Congregational Meeting –Sunday, January 24 after 11:00am Worship

The Session has called a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, January 24, after the 11:00 a.m. worship service for the purpose of receiving and acting upon a report from the Congregational Nominating Committee regarding the next Pastoral Nominating Committee. This meeting will once again be held over Zoom and will also be livestreamed.

Sunday Night Youth Group
For the next two weeks, Sunday Night Youth Group will meet off site. On January 24, Middle School will meet at the home of Andy and Beth Lancaster and High School will meet at the home of Gil and Christa Agnew.

5:00-6:00pm – Middle School Girls

6:00-7:00pm – High School

Chapel Open for Prayer
9am-1pm Weekdays

As a church family, we are called to pray for our community, our state, our nation, and our world.

Our beautiful Chapel will be open from 9:00am - 1:00pm on weekdays beginning Tuesday, January 19, for you to come and sit and pray in the stillness of God. You can also place any personal prayer needs in the Chapel prayer box and a member of our staff will be present in the Chapel to pray over your requests.

Workout with FPC in 2021! (Email Colleen)
Zoom Group Classes are free and open to all ages every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (7:15 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.). Each class lasts 30-45 minutes and can be done in your living room utilizing dumbbells and bodyweight exercises. If you are unable to attend during these times, reach out to Colleen Darrall to inquire about private Zoom workouts.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Financial Opportunity Center – Greeter
The new Financial Opportunity Center is looking for volunteers to help greet clients 2-3 days a week beginning in February. Volunteers would mostly be needed during tax season (February-April) to greet VITA clients, but the opportunity could extend beyond that. The Financial Opportunity Center is open 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. They are flexible to schedule but are looking for someone who can serve consistent hours (2 days a week, every morning, etc.). Pastoral Counseling with Dr. Kirk Neely is available by appointment. Currently all counseling is being done by telephone or by Zoom. Personal Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, and Spiritual Direction are available by appointment only. This is not emergency counseling.
