Mother’s Day Offering for Presbyterian Communities – Next Sunday, May
12
Each Mother’s Day our church, together with Presbyterian congregations
throughout our state collect an offering to support the work of
Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina (previously known as
Presbyterian Homes). Presbyterian Communities across our state provide
quality care for seniors, even when their lives extend beyond their
financial resources, and this annual offering helps to keep that work
going. The Rev. Dr. Franklin Fant, Director of Foundation Services and
Church Relations for Presbyterian Communities, will be with us in worship
on May 12 and preaching in MorningSong that morning. Come hear and support
this important mission of the Presbyterian Church!
OTHER NEWS
Weekday School Director
After 11 years of faithful service, our Weekday School Director Moira
Scheel has announced that this will be her last year with our Weekday
School. With her warmth, her strong background in education, and her
unending devotion to children and their families, Moira has greatly
strengthened the program during her time as director. Her leadership and
love will be greatly missed! Next year, Moira will be enjoying her final
year with all her family at home, before her eldest goes to college, as she
discerns what is next. A search team is already hard at work and well along
the way to finding our next Weekday School Director. Please let Julie
Martin or Craig Foster know if you have any input on that search, and
please be sure to express your thanks to Moira for her years of faithful
service.
